애플, 아이티비(iTV) 포기하고 아이워치(iWatch)에 집중한다!
애플 아이티비(iTV), 2014년 출시계획 취소한 것으로 알려져
올해 초부터 꾸준히 전해진 애플 관련 소식 중 하나가 바로 '아이티비(iTV)' 에 관한 것인데요. 2014년에 4K 화질의 iTV 가 출시될 예정이라는 소식 등 다양한 내용이 해외매체를 통해 전해졌었죠?
(DigiTimes) - Apple is reportedly continuing to develop a TV rumored to be called the iTV, which is likely to support Ultra HD (3840 by 2160) along with voice and motion control functions and Internet connectivity, according to industry supply chain sources.
4K UHD 패널이 장착되는 것을 물론이고 인터넷 연결 지원, 사용자 음성 및 모션 인식 등 해당 기기와 관련하여 여러가지 소스들이 존재했는데요.
그런데, 최근 디스플레이서치, BGR 등 몇몇 매체에서 전하는 소식을 보면 2014년 iTV 출시 계획이 취소되었다고 합니다. 대신 아이워치(iWatch, 가칭)와 같은 웨어러블 디바이스에 집중할 것이라고 하네요.
(BGR) - DisplaySearch’s supply chain sources claim that Apple has cooled to the idea of releasing its own television set in 2014 and will instead focus on wearable computers such as smartwatches. The big hangup for Apple right now, claims DisplaySearch, isn’t the television’s hardware or software but the content it will offer with its new “iTV.”
이렇듯 계획이 취소된 원인은 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 문제가 아니라 iTV 에 제공될 콘텐츠 문제 때문이라 합니다.
